A Road Trip to Bhangarh Fort
Have you ever considered doing a road trip
with your cousins, where some of them younger than you and some older ??
If not
I think that you should go to one.
Well!! In my case, I am always the youngest one
Well!! In my case, I am always the youngest one
2
years back, I and my cousins randomly planned a road trip to Bhangarh Fort. If I
talk about Bhangarh Fort, I only have one thing to say that it is one of the
most haunted places in India.
Bhangarh Fort is situated in the Alvar district of Rajasthan, India around 275 km from Delhi and it is recommended to start your trip early in the morning so that you can wind up everything till dusk. Because it's not allowed in the fort at night because of the paranormal activities in the fort as stated by the locals and the people who visited there.

There
are many stories revolving about the Bhangarh but no one knows what's the truth. Including
this one which was told by our guide. He told us that there was a King Madho
Singh who built the city after attaining the approval of saint Balu Nath, a
yogi who used to meditate there. The saint gave his approval on the condition
that the shadow of the King’s palace should never fall on his retreat.
If in
case it did, the city would be ruined. Once the construction was completed, the
retreat of Guru Balu was unfortunately shadowed by the palace. Having incurred
the saint’s curse, Bhangarh immediately transformed into a cursed city and
could never be rebuilt as no structures ever managed to survive in it. It is
interesting to note that the tomb of Guru Balu Nath can still be found among
the ruins.
So, to
resolve the mystery behind the sayings and believings I went there to explore it. And we concluded there is something that cannot be
defined but one can feel that something unnatural is there which makes it haunted.
It
was Sunday morning and we started our journey around 9am and I was very excited
to go there because not believing any of the stories of bhangarh for made me curious. We enjoyed ourselves a lot, as it was our first ever road
trip which is a dream for some people to date. I remember that my eldest
sister was trying to scare us all the way as she herself was very scared. We
shared our made up haunted stories and were trying to scare others. We sang
songs and had a great time.
In the
afternoon we had our lunch at Jhilmil Dhaba, Chikani at Alwar-Tijara road and I
should say it was a great place to eat. The aloo paranthas and lassi were
amazing. If you are planning to go bhangarh I would really recommend this place
to you guys.
After lunch, we continued the journey and routed through Raigarh and
while passing by the Pemawala district I started to feel some negativity around
ourselves but it was so low so I ignored it .but as soon as we entered passes
through the Nangal Dasa road, the heavy feeling tends to increase as we headed
towards the Bhangarh gaon. We saw many odd things such as skeletons of cattle
along the roads and the people there somewhat behaving differently.
The
the strangest thing we saw when a cow came in front of our car from
nowhere and it followed us for around 10 minutes.
Instead of being scared we should enjoy that moment. After 20-25 minutes we reached the entrance of Bhangarh.

At the entrance of the Bhangarh, there were many stalls where you can buy soft drinks,
fruit chats, and some other snacks. We had some snacks there and entered the
Bhangarh gaon. The whole town was demolished and only the remains were there to
see. But the view was worth escorting and constantly feeling the increased
negativity someplace was converting into fear as we went near the fort's
entrance.
At the
fort entrance, there was an old sign from the archeological survey of India
which states that it is illegal to stay in the fort after sunset. There we hired a guide who told us the history of
the Bhangarh which I have already described in the beginning.
As we
entered the fort at the right we encountered a Hanuman temple which was
established around 400 years ago. We took the blessings at the Mandir and
continued exploring the fort. The fort was beautiful made up and the view from
the top was exceptionally wonderful. Our guide showed us the room of the king
and the queen which were so small that we were not able to go inside the room.
And also there was some sort of smell which was unbearable.
There wasn't much there to see but the view of the ruined fort was majestic and
the stories that the guide told us scared us more and also we had no idea that
is he making a fool out of us or is he narrating the true incidents? So, after
exploring all the areas and places in the bhangarh fort we left the fort around
5:00pm and headed off to Delhi.
MY EXPERIENCE
The Bhangarh Fort which is labeled as the most
haunted place in India, I experienced that there were no ghosts or spirits in the
fort but there was something unnatural or you can say disturbing about that
place. It gave a heavy feeling like something has been latched to my body and
it's weighing me down. Which I couldn't understand to date.
Happy
Wandering :)
