Have you ever considered these 4 things in your Trekking Shoe ?
Color, design, good grip, and most importantly, it should be in your budget right!...
But that's not enough, as you know color and design doesn't give you comfort.
Check these four things that you should keep in mind while buying a pair of shoes:
1)The Sole
The sole is the base of the shoe that connects to the ground. So, to provide a fair amount of grip, you should consider these two main things:- The Lugs on the sole and the stiffness of the sole.
a) The lugs are the small rubber textures that are present on the sole for providing the grip. If you considered buying a new shoe, check that the lugs are enough deep around 0.5 to 0.8 cms. Adding to the size of the lug, look for the criss-cross pattern of the lugs that helps you in ascending and descending the mountain.
b) Secondly, the stiffness of the sole, having the right amount of rigidity increases the life of the shoe with a nice amount of grip. Because, if the bottom of the shoe is very hard then it's going to last longer, but the grip will be less and vice versa.

2)Ankle support
When you trek on a rocky trail or snow, chances of slipping or getting scratches from the rocks are frequent. Therefore, sometimes you end up having sprain or cuts on your leg.
Furthermore, when you trek in the heavy snow, sometimes snow makes its way inside the shoe. So, to avoid both these problems having high-ankle shoes is a must.
When you go shopping, make sure that the ankle length of the shoe must be 1.5 to 2 inches above the ankle bone. This extra length properly binds your leg to your feet. Hence, the chances of getting a sprain are minimum.

3)High Water resistance
It is a bright sunny day, and you are on a trek, trailing the rough bump path, clicking photographs, singing songs, and engrossing the vibe with your loved ones. And suddenly the clouds cover the whole sky like a blanket, and it starts to pour. Your shoes are wet and soggy, and you end up waiting under a shed for your shoes and socks to dry up than to enjoy the weather. Quite upsetting, right?
As a trekker, I know how it feels. After a 7-8 hour drive and 10km climb, you are not able to enjoy the weather
So, never so on a mountain trip without waterproof shoes or else, you have to stay back while others make the most out of their tour.

4)Shoe Size
When you trek from a hot region to a colder one, your feet tend to swell up a little due to change in altitude, and hence, when you climb your toes ache. That's because of the fitted shoes. Therefore while buying shoes for treks, make sure that there is a thumb-size gap between your toes and the outer boot.
These are some of the features which you should remember before buying a new pair of trekking or hiking shoes.
